Christopher Alvin "Chris" Stapleton was born in Lexington (Kentucky) in 1978 and is a musician, singer, and songwriter. He’s written songs for renowned bands and artists such as Patty Loveless, Josh Turner, Darryl Worley, Trace Adkins Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Trisha Yearwood, Lee Ann Womack, Darius Rucker, Steel Magnolia, Adele, Alison Krauss and Union Station George Strait, Thomas Rhett Alan Jackson, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Jake Owen, and Charles Kelley. He began his career as a solo artist in 2013 with the single, ‘What Are You Listening To?’.His musical style can be best described as a blend of bluegrass, Southern rock (a subgenre of rock music that developed in the Southern United States from rock and roll, country music, and blues, and is focused generally on electric guitar and vocals), outlaw country (a subgenre of country music that’s rooted in earlier subgenres like honky tonk and rockabilly and is characterized by a blend of rock and folk rhythms, country instrumentation and introspective lyrics), and blues. He went on to have a stellar career with 1 studio album, 3 more singles, 1 music video, and many awards (including 2 Grammys).
