Future, Migos, Tory Lanez, and Kodak Black are bringing their signature sounds to the Xfinity Center!
Tory Lanez (birth name Daystar Peterson) was born in Toronto in 1992 and is a singer, songwriter, record producer, director, and fashion designer. He took an interest in rapping at an early age and his nickname (Lanez) was given to him by a friend who commented on his thrill seeking tendencies that led to him fooling around in the street without caring about traffic, and playing in street lanes. He idolized the late rapper Notorious B.I.G and when he was 16, he dropped out of high school and started performing at outdoor concerts. His calls his musical style ‘Swavey’ and he described it in an interview as, “Swavey is a two-adjective word…the real definition of swavey is a genre of music. The genre of music is the genre of fusing more than one together. I know it sounds strange, but if you ask an artist what they do they're going to say that they rap, they sing, they do rock-a lot of people are multi-talented…I feel that they're just talented, swavey artists…”His mixtapes, Conflicts of My Soul: The 416 Story (2013) and Lost Cause (2014) were critically acclaimed. His 2015 single (Say It) hit #23 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and his debut studio album is set for release this year.
