Sensational alternative rock bands Incubus and Jimmy Eat World are bringing their signature sounds to the Xfinity Center!
Jimmy Eat World was formed in 1993 in Mesa (Arizona) by guitarist Jim Adkins and drummer Zach Lind who were friends since preschool. They recruited guitarist Tom Linton and bass player Mitch Porter to complete the line up and the band got its name after a fight between Tom’s 2 younger brothers Jim and Ed. Jim won and Ed wanted revenge so he drew a crayon picture of a Jim shoving the Earth into his mouth. The picture was captioned ‘Jimmy eat world’. The band’s been through a few line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Jim (lead and backing vocals, lead guitar), Tom Linton (rhythm guitar, backing and lead vocals), Zach Lind (drums, percussion, programming), and Rick Burch (bass guitar, backing vocals). When on tour the band also includes Robin Vining (keyboards, percussion, guitar, backing vocals). They’ve had a stellar career with 9 studio albums (1 of which went Platinum), 3 live albums, 1 compilation album, 1 video album, 9 music video, 7 extended plays, 16 singles, many singles in collaboration renowned bands (Christie Front Drive, Taking Back Sunday, to name a few), and 3 demo albums.
